Charities

8 Squadron support four different charities per financial year.  These are nominated and voted for by the current members of the squadron with each charity receiving donation of £200.

The charities that have been chosen for the financial year 2017/2018 are detailed below;

Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance:

Formed in 1994 and based at RAF Waddington, the service covers the administrative counties of Lincs and Notts.  It is a non-profitable company and only one of 18 such services in England and Wales.

Daz’s Den:

Provides a ‘Home by the Sea’, located at the Haven Golden Sands site, Mablethorpe for any serving or Ex- serving military personnel with physical or emotional injuries.  Accommodating up to 6 people with full amenities on site.

The Nomad Trust:

Provides care and support to single homeless people, of which there are an increasing number of Ex-Service members. Currently has 51 volunteers helping with the night shelter.  Donations range from clothes, household goods, DVD’s bric-a-brac etc. greatly appreciated.

Lincoln County Hospital Chemotherapy Ward:

The ULHT (United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust) provides Cancer Services to include all the health and social care needed to diagnose, treat and care for people with cancer and their families.  These services are provided in a range of different places, including GP surgeries, district hospitals and in the patients’ own homes.
